Crown After RCT

Why you need a dental crown after rct

Crown after RCT is always recommended by an experienced prosthodontist. Prosthodontics is a specialized branch of dentistry that deals with the replacement of missing tooth, and associated soft and hard tissues with a prosthesis (Crowns, bridges, dentures) which may be fixed or removable or supported by implants.

In a root canal procedure, the pulp of the tooth under treatment is removed. And due to this, blood circulation in tooth does not happen. In the long run, this makes the tooth brittle and weak leading to higher chances of tooth fractures.

Hence, protecting your root canal treated tooth is strongly recommended. A good quality crowns saves not only your tooth but also reduces your unforeseen dental treatment expenses in the long run.

There are different types of crowns available depending upon the longevity, warranty and strength it provides to the underlying tooth. You can choose any one of these basis your budget and after consultation with your dentist.

  • All Ceramic Crowns / Zirconia Crowns (tooth colored)

  • Porcelain Fused to Metal Crowns (tooth colored)

  • All metal crowns
